What Is Making Media?

Does making media mean running ads? Or is it really the media profession? If you are confused by the 101 types of definitions of media jobs on recruitment websites, let AIM help you ‘troubleshoot’!

Before starting to learn about the industry, let’s learn the basics of media in the media with AIM!

In a dry way, ‘media is the way brands convey a message to consumers. And what that method is, nobody limits your creativity. For some people, media may be just a small corner of a newspaper, others must be a TV advertisement … Whether simple or sophisticated, as long as it can convey the message you send to your target audience.

There are several ways you can categorize media. Simply put, you can divide into traditional media and digital media for easy remembering. If you’re serious about pursuing a media career you should be familiar with the paid-owned-earned media concepts:

Paid media: channel you have to pay to use. For example: TV, Newspaper, Radio, Social ..
Owned media: channels you own such as website, Fanpage, Youtube …
Earned media: the channel you do not need to pay for but is still used as good content or viral or your effort to do SEO to appear on page 1 Google.

Categorizing according to the above 3 factors will help you to have a deeper understanding of the nature and relationship between channels. To be more specific, a good content on owned media when shared by more than one person, discussion will result in earned media. However, in order to achieve earned media, content creation is not enough, you still need 1 ‘push’ to reach a large audience. That is also the reason when you want to spread the message quickly in a short time, most brands use paid media.

In other words, owned media is the place where the content is posted; paid media is used to distribute, propagate, and excite in earned media.

Going back and forth, WHAT IS MEDIA DO IT?

When it comes to career opportunities in the media industry, it is necessary to mention the relationship between the 3 parties client-publisher – media agency. The client is the person who needs media to spread the message; The publisher is the owner of the media channels; while the media agency acts as an intermediary to help clients choose appropriate advertising channels from publishers. Making media, most of you will work for these 3 parties although the nature of the work is relatively different.

Starting with the Media Agency, you will likely see two popular positions:

Media planner: responsible for research, channel selection and planning based on data and budget to achieve set KPI.
Media execution: inclined to realize the plan set out by the planner. With traditional channels, the mission of media execution will be to negotiate and place advertisements on TV, newspapers, radio, billboard … If the campaign operates on digital channels, media execution is the direct set-up and optimization. effectiveness of each social media channel, display ad, SEM …
Whether working as a planner or in favor of execute, at the agency, the work of the media is also more about the number. With a budget from a few tens to several hundred billion, to run which channel, how to run to not overdo it, it is necessary to meticulous and careful about the data of the media maker.

As for the client, the work of the media people is rarely divided. Depending on the size and budget of the company, the media profession is often known with different titles such as press relations specialist, Facebook ad runner, Google …

Finally, in publishers like television stations; radio station; ad-network… the media’s job is usually sales – selling ad slots or accounts – who takes the project from sales and continues to follow-up the customer during the run. In these two positions, if I don’t understand media, ‘sour’. Having mastered the foundation and important indicators, you will advise and close deals with ‘old’ clients like media agency!

If you scroll through the job board pages and you’ll see that 80% of the media worker’s workload is execution-oriented. So if you are new to the career, do not be in a hurry to dream with a senior, you must understand the background first. And media execution is a place to help you complement the experience you would never have if you just study books or sit in school.

However, it must be said again, although the media team always lacks staff, it is not easy to apply successfully. Before deciding to enter the industry you should:

There is a definite understanding of media channels from strengths and weaknesses to purpose and application circumstances.
Know how to identify and analyze your target audience from psychology to behavior.
Understand metrics in each media channel.
In addition, having digital thinking, being quick to analyze in evaluating data or hard in negotiating communication is also an advantage.

Getting It Right: Tips For Crossbow Hunting

Cocking & Loading A Crossbow Properly

This is one of the fundamentals but is often overlooked. If you are a novice hunter, this is especially important to keep in mind. Rather than using your bare hands to cock and load your crossbow, use the provided cocking device to avoid getting hurt. Go for the most common approach:tips for crossbow hunting

  1. Stabilize the bow against the ground with a foot press bar
  2. Feed the cocking device via the track included
  3. Hook the string through the device groove
  4. Draw the cocking device back until it clicks

The key idea here is to make sure that you hear the click. Only then will you be able to guarantee your safety. If you are worried about safety, you should opt for bows with double safety mechanisms.

If you use a separate cocking device, such as the AccuDraw, which includes a built-in level, do not forget to switch to disengage mode before pulling and mounting the bow onto the track. Cock the bow once the string is mounted properly by cranking the wheel. Choose this method of cocking if you want to exert minimal effort. It is preferable if you intend to hunt all day long.

Another tip with cocking crossbows is to do it manually on the ground. You can even cock it beforehand at home at the truck. Be careful since there is a significant amount of pressure kept in the foot stirrup that can knock you down. Of course, you do not want this to happen. So, better safe than sorry!

Setting The Crossbow Scope Accurately

When you zero your crossbow scope, ensure that your target is set ~10 yards away. Test it by taking a shot against the top reticle and make any necessary corrections for windage and elevation. Do not think that a few measures will be acceptable. For the best results, keep your settings accurate!

Test Broadheads Carefully

tips for crossbow hunting

Common broadheads work with sub-370-fps crossbows, though some shoot 400+ fps, which may test the limits of even the best broadheads. Do not let popular brands become blindsight. We have seen established mechanicals that would not work at high crossbow speeds. Although big fixed blades are notorious for flying all crazy, some can still hit right.

Nowadays, most crossbow quivers in the market feature a broadhead cover, along with a foam or plastic insert to keep the heads protected. Just be sure that your quiver has one because exposed heads can be a hazard, regardless of whether you are in a stand or walking into one.

We have some broadheads offer for you. Just read carefully and choose your best here.

Avoid The Triangle Of Death

This is something hunters learn the hard way. Instead of enduring the same pain as we did, avoid the triangle of death by reading this thoroughly. This triangle of death is the area that is created between the drawn bow’s trigger sear, barrel, and riser.

If your finger is here, you will most likely lose it if the bow fires. Even in the best scenario, your fingers will be hurt, bruised black and blue!

Using A Draw Line

To get your crossbow into an elevated stand, you should use a draw line and consider the cardinal rule. Check that your safety is ON and that you are in a fully seated stand before you load your arrow. Point your arrows down, so any chance of it dislodging will not cause injuries.

Another point is that you should tie off your draw lines short, a few feet off the ground. This is so that when you lower your bow at the end of a hunt, it halts above the ground and does not inflict any additional damage.

Getting A Good Rest

Many hunters like to brag about hunting for long periods. However, we do not recommend this at all. Following several hours in a stand, you will grow tired. Even the lightest crossbow will become unbearable. Thus, we suggest that you take breaks in between and get a good rest.

Also, it will help if you can get a crossbow to stand with a safety rail that can double as a place to rest your bow. Alternatives that you can consider are a shooting stick and bow hanger, both of which can serve as a shooting aid.

Adequate Care & Maintenance

As with any product, proper care and maintenance are critical. Crossbows that are cared for will deliver top-notch performance as compared to those that are neglected and subjected to rough handling.

Always abide by guidelines offered by your crossbow’s manufacturer—spare time to check strings, cables, cams, trigger, and safety mechanisms as well.

Just note that poor care and maintenance can result in irreversible damage. Let your hunting stories be filled with pride and triumph rather than regret and sorrow!

The hunting realm is thrillingly tricky, but now, with our tips for crossbow hunting, you can surely enter the arena with confidence.

If you are a rookie hunter, as long as you apply what you have just read, you will become a seasoned one in no time!

Be sure to share with us your hunting experience while utilizing these tips. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
